Several months ago, I had a support case open about an issue with DHCP not relaying properly on nos6.x.x. Ultimately the issue was a defect that was addressed in nos7.0.0 so the issue was shelved until I was able to upgrade.
I've completed that upgrade and am having no luck with DHCP relay.
I have a DHCP server (10.1.1.5) on vlan 10.
Vlan 10 has an address 10.1.1.1 on our old switch and address 10.1.1.2 on the VDX6740 fabric.
# sh run int ve 10 interface Ve 10 no shutdown attach rbridge-id add 1 ip fabric-virtual-gateway gateway-address 10.1.1.2/24 enable ! # sh run rb 1 int ve 10 rbridge-id 1 interface Ve 10 ip directed-broadcast no shutdown ! !
I'm doing my testing with vlan 117. With an interface on the old switch and Cisco's ip helper, everything works as expected.
I've shutdown the old switch's interface for vlan 117 and brought it up on the VDX:
# sh run int ve 117 interface Ve 117 no shutdown attach rbridge-id add 1 ip fabric-virtual-gateway gateway-address 10.1.117.1/24 enable ! ! # sh run rb 1 int ve 117 rbridge-id 1 interface Ve 117 ip dhcp relay address 10.1.1.5 ip directed-broadcast ip proxy-arp no shutdown ! !
I don't get any DHCP response unless I add the following to rb 1 int ve 117:
ip address 10.1.117.2/24
With an address on the rbridge's VE, I get DHCP relay but with no address there, it doesn't seem to pick up the fabric-virtual-gateway address to pass along.
I've got 4 switches in the fabric at the moment and intend to use fabric-virtual-gateway across all 4 rbridges rather than keeping it just at the 1 shown in the snippets above. Even with local addresses on the rbridge VEs, I can't extend this out to the other rbridges.

Could you please send out the defect number mentioned?
And still suggest you open a new support case for the further investigation.

This was case #1577476 and they confirmed the issue (when on nos6.x.x) as defect 579668. This was also very briefly brought up in a previous forum post https://community.brocade.com/t5/Ethernet-Fabric-V
I'll move forward with opening a support case on this.
