VDX 6746 Embedded Switch

Hello,

I have a few questions on a VDX6746 embedded switch. I have checked all manuals and for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove a VLAN I added on my switch.

I used "interface vlan 3000" to create the VLAN. Now, I simply want to remove it and tried "no vlan 3000" command and "no vlan 3000 remove", but neither worked. Are you not able to delete a VLAN on this switch?

Last question on the switch, if you want to configure the mangement interface to use a static IP, why does there appear to be 2 areas to edit, see below?

When you run "show ru", you get the following:

interface Management 1/0
 ip address dhcp
 no ipv6 address autoconfig

When you run "show interface management 1/0", you get the following:

sw0# show interface management 1/0
interface Management 1/0
 ip address 10.x.xx.xxx/24
 ip gateway-address 10.4.xx.xxx
 ipv6 ipv6-address [  ]
 ipv6 ipv6-gateways [  ]
 line-speed actual "100baseT, Duplex: Full"
 line-speed configured Auto

So my question is, which interface (they appear to be the same) do I edit?

Thanks in advance!

A "no interface vlan 3000" should do the trick ;-)

You should edit "interface management 1/0". The shown IP adress is the address the interface has gotten from DHCP.
