VDX 6740T Configuration

Hi,

I am a new Brocade user and I  have two VDX 6740T switches that are connected in a fabric.  The switches are physically connected to each other at ports 47 and 48.  I have no problem connecting devices to the primary switch, however, there is no network connection on the secondary switch.  For instance, if I have a laptop and a server connected on the primary switch, they communicate fine.  If I move the laptop connection to the secondary switch, the connection is lost.  Any thoughts?

othompsen,

if I understand you problem correct, i think you don't have configured the Ports 47 and 48 as "fabric isl enable"

for this reason, when you connect you laptop to the second switch the traffic don't pass to the other where the server is connected.

Re: VDX 6740T Configuration

Thanks for your reply Antonio!  The fabric isl was already enabled...I forgot to configure the ports on the second switch.  All is well now!
