How AMPP port profile is applied

Hi All,

Could you please help me clarify the following.

The flow of AMPP configuration is as follows:
1) Create port profile
2) Activate port profile
3) Associate VM MAC with port profile

Then as I know, this port profile must be applied to a particular
switch port before the switch can apply port profile rules
to VM traffic based on the MAC address of the ethernet packet.

So how the port profile is applied to the switch port before VM starts
communcation? (Both on start of VM for the first time and after VM migration)

Is that based on the MAC address of GARP packet?

If it is based on GARP, it should be OK with VM migration, assuming

that every hypervisor send GARP to external physical switch just after

the migraiton.

Then how the port profile is applied to the port on the start of VM for the first time?

As I know GARP is not used when VM is started for the first time.
