Brocade VDX 6720-24 with Brocade VCS Fabric

Hi Experts...

I need you assistance in regards to a problem I faced on Brocade - VDX-6720

Issue:

I have port on VDX connected to Physical Server which also have Brocade NIC 1860 and tagged with various Vlan on it. Basically what happen two days earlier is that port stop tagging the Vlan. If I see the port using "show mac-address-table" command on VDX is show nothing... I have check port and all the vlan were allowed on it.

Port is configured as a standard trunk port as below and there was no error or Log ...

Port config:

interface TenGigabitEthernet 2/0/1

description "Connected to Server1"

no fabric isl enable

no fabric trunk enable

switchport

switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 9,18-19,30,44,50,102-105,108,120,200-201,330-331,333,340,501-502,507-510,530,603-604,885,900,999

no shutdown

We have 2 - VDX 6720-24 are in VCS mode and the physical server NIC is connected to both VDX's and are teamed Active / Passive.

What I did:

I have shutdown / no shut the port and everything works fine.

VDX Details:

Re: Brocade VDX 6720-24 with Brocade VCS Fabric

Hi,

I'am not an expert but have two hints

1) Are you sure, that the problem is on the VDX? Maybe there is a problem on the server with his teaming setup.

2) Because the VDX systems support vLAG's (Multi Chassis LAG) in VCS mode we changed our acttive/passive failover setups in to LACP-LAG setups on the end systems. From the end systems view it is a normal 2-link LACP LAG and they do not know that the LAG is terminated on different switching systems on the other side. This 'should' work with all equipment that support LACP LAGs.
