CNE 200: A new concise path to Networking Certification

Build a foundation of valuable networking knowledge in just four days with the prestigious Brocade Certified Network Engineer (BCNE) credential coming in December 2010.

Designed for professionals with less than one year of field experience, the Brocade Certified Network Engineer (BCNE) CNE 200 offers a foundational understanding of networking technologies and features offered by the Brocade Ethernet Switch/Router family of products. CNE 200 introduces the networking fundamentals, routing, and data gathering/monitoring information you need to grow your existing knowledge and prepare, in part, for the BCNE certification exam.

CNE 200 replaces its retiring predecessor, ETH 103, and offers fine-tuned and more relevant content, dynamic graphics, and improved labs. To gain an understanding of the differences between the CNE 200 from the ETH 103, click here to review the course differences.

Please review our FAQ which addresses questions you may have regarding the CNE 200.

CNE 200 prepares candidates to:

  • Identify how Brocade products are used in a data network
  • Review Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking fundamentals
  • Create Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks using Brocade Ethernet switches and routers
  • Configure and manage interfaces, VLANs, Spanning Tree, link aggregation, ACLs, OSPF, VRRP-E, and more on Brocade Ethernet switches and routers
  • Introduce additional networking protocols and features including wireless, multicast and network security
  • Upgrade software images and files on Brocade Ethernet switches and routers

This blended delivery course is available in a traditional classroom, on-line with a live instructor (virtual classroom), or as self-paced, web-based training.  All learning options include additional self-paced, web-based training. Choose the way you prefer to learn from these options:

  • CNE 200-BLS: Four days of instructor-led classroom training with hands-on lab exercises, plus 1 hour of prerequisite and 5 hours of supplemental web-based training  (Available registration November 1st, 2010)
  • CNE 200-BSS: Four days of virtual classroom training with simulated lab exercises, plus 1 hour of prerequisite and 5 hours of supplemental web-based training (available March 2011)
  • CNE 200-BVS: Four days of virtual classroom training with hands-on lab exercises, plus 1 hour of prerequisite and 5 hours of supplemental web-based training (available March 2011)
  • CNE 200-WBT: 21 hours of web-based training and simulated lab exercises (available March 2011)
  • CNE 200-BIS: Four days of instructor-led classroom training with simulated lab exercises, plus 1 hour of prerequisite and 5 hours of supplemental web-based training (available March 2011)

Re: CNE 200: A new concise path to Networking Certification

I believe I will take the CNE 200-WBT as I am dislocated from the US and I am preparing for the BCNE.  Currently I am taking the CNE 250-WBT.  What would be you take on the CNE 200-WBT?  More specifically are the simulated labs just examples similar to the CNE 250-WBT or simulations that  you can interact with?

The CNE 200 content will be more complete than CNE 250. Together they will be the best preparation for you BCNE exam. The labs will be similar to CNE 250 as we do not have a switch simulator.

Be sure to grab the free Nutshell exam study guide, and the BCNE practice questions from the Certification Community.
