Brocade solutioneers, Chip Copper and Jon Hudson, discuss why Supercomputing is one of the most fascinating technology conferences in the world and what they observed at the 2013 event in Denver. They visit why the type of research conducted by the organizations present at Supercomputing, provides attendees with a glimpse into the future of networking technologies. The two note that topics like big data and SDN are not just buzzwords at this event, they are fundamental to major scientific discoveries. At Supercomputing 2013, Brocade solutioneer, Marcus Thordal, showcases how a large-scale campus can be interconnected simply, by providing the user automation across the network through an Ethernet fabric. This demonstration also shows a trending clustered object-based storage solution across the campus. This was done in collaboration with INKtank who helped build the Ceph cluster, as well as drive and monitor the data flow.
