virtual server with IP from NAT pool

Hi community,

is it possible the setup a virtual server on an IP that is also part of a NAT pool?

I am using following config:

server real mail1 192.168.128.144

  port smtp

server virtual mail X.Y.Z.144

   port smtp

   bind smtp mail1 smtp

ip nat inside source list 101 pool mail overload

ip nat pool mail X.Y.Z.144 X.Y.Z.146 prefix-len 24

access-list 101 permit tcp 192.168.128.144 0.0.0.3 any eq smtp

I can't connect to the X.Y.Z.144 port 25 from the outside although this works for another mailserver which doesn't collide with any nat pool so I am wondering whether this my setup for the 'mail' virtual server is supported at all?

thanks,

Steve.

Re: virtual server with IP from NAT pool

Hi Steve,

I have exactly the same configuration with you.

Below, both worked without any issue in my setup with ADX 12.2.01k and 12.3.01f.

ip nat pool mail X.Y.Z.144 X.Y.Z.144 prefix-len 24

ip nat pool mail X.Y.Z.144 X.Y.Z.146 prefix-len 24

Thanks.
