Currently a member of a select team at Brocade headquarters I am focused on FICON and System z technologies for my company. I have forty one years in the computer industry, including ten years as an end-user of which seven were spent as a mainframe systems programmer. I have spent thirty one years in the vendor world with positions at Amdahl, StorageTek, REAL Solutions (an IBM Business Partner), McDATA and Brocade.
I am an industry-recognized authority on ESCON, FICON, and mainframe I/O. And I am a regular speaker at industry/vendor conferences such as SHARE, HP Tech Forum and the Brocade Technical Conference. I am also a published author on Mainframe I/O and FICON. My papers have appeared in zJournal and the CMG Proceedings. I am also active in the SHARE user group conferences.
I am a Brocade Certified Architect for FICON and was among the first to achieve this professional certification.
When not on the road talking with folks like you, I am based at my home office in Marietta, Georgia, USA. Outside of work I enjoy photographing the worldwide locations I visit, golfing with friends, SCUBA diving in exotic places, poking around in the ancient cities of Europe/Asia and snow skiing.
